Pretend

The Neighbor from Hell Prequel

There was nothing more painful than falling in love with your best friend.

From New York Time’s bestselling author R.L. Mathewson comes the prequel to the disturbingly funny romantic comedy series, Neighbor from Hell.

She couldn’t do this anymore.

After watching her best friend and the man that she’d been in love with her entire life propose to another woman, Morgan decided that it was time to finally move on. She made plans, plans that Eric didn’t know about and she planned to keep it that way, but unfortunately for her, one bet destroyed everything, leaving her with no choice but to be there for her best friend one last time.

He was done.

Eric Bradford was done wasting his time on women that he had absolutely no hope of falling in love with. He just needed time, a chance to get away, and he just needed…

Her.

Determined to figure out how he kept screwing up his life, Eric asks Morgan for one more favor, one that would change everything, and leave him with no choice but to do whatever it takes to stop the one woman that meant everything to him from finally walking away.

Unrequited love between best friends? *check* Lots of fun and hijinks? *check* A forever bond that just grows stronger? *double check*. You know with a book in this series you are going to get fun, steam, and all sorts zaniness, but I’m always struck by how much emotion is always woven in between all that. Or, how different all the stories develop, and how each Bradford is so different. I loved everything about Eric and Morgan, and before I knew it, I was done the book! NO breaks, no mind wandering, they had me fully invested in their story, and I was there with them for everything that happened <3

I will admit that I am a major fan of R.L. Mathewson, so I am usually anxiously waiting for each new book to drop. This book did not disappoint. I love the characters and the antics that they get into. One thing I always love about her books is that they make me laugh out loud for most of the book and that is not something I get with a lot of other books. My only complaint is she does not write the books faster because I usually devour them within a day.

This like all the neighbors from hell is funny, witty, and sweet. I love the character’s personalities. The back story of how the friendship developed. I like the personal touches about the craftsmanship of the Bradford family business. I love this series and can’t wait for more.

I just can’t get enough. I love this series.
I will be reading it from the beginning again. I always read the newest one out then start all over again…and it never gets boring.

I found this story to be a quirky romantic comedy. The repartee between the main couple, along with each one’s inner dialogue, was charmingly hilarious. This was a pleasant, easy read that makes me want to read more of this author’s work.

Good Stuff!

This is the only author I have ever written that can write zany, humorous stories without slapstick silliness. This book is great with just the right amount of humor and charm. I never tire of this series. I anxiously await her books. Never a disappointment. Please keep writing more in this series. Love all the books. This one is just so engaging and cute
