Teacher of the Year: Part I and A Chance to Win

“I just feel as though you could have put a little more effort in when you decided to cheat,” Jason said, wondering where he went wrong as he glanced up from the quiz that he’d given on the American Revolution to find the student that really should have known better, standing in front of him, looking at a loss for words.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Adam, a kid who really should have known better, said as he did his best to try to appear innocent.

“Look,” Jason said, tossing the quiz back on his desk with a sigh, “if you’re going to cheat in my classroom, then you might want to consider changing the answers into your own words.”

“But, I didn’t-”

And the next R.L. Mathewson book will be…

So, with Devastated finally finished after seven years...

It's time to move onto the next book. Now, as some of your remember we have quite a few books waiting to get some attention. Right now the main books that most readers seem to be waiting for are:

Irresistible

Tall, Dark & Furious

The next Cursed Hearts novel

Daddy’s Little Girl: Part VIII & The Latest News About Devastated

“There’s no reason to panic,” Mikey said and if she hadn’t said that as her legs gave out, he probably would have believed her.

“Oh, that can’t be good,” Cole said, rubbing his trembling hands down as his face as he stared down at Mikey while Jonathan, who’d decided to come help them after he’d spotted them walking to the baseball field on his way home, mumbled, “There’s so much blood.”

“I’m fine,” Mikey said, nodding to herself as Sebastian carefully lowered her to the ground.

“And all this blood?” Sebastian asked, looking paler by the second as Trevor knelt by her side and took a closer look at her temple and decided that a trip to the emergency room was definitely in order.

Dear Reader

Dear Reader,

Tonight I was planning on continuing with the next part of the Chronicle that I started last week, but a reader's message left me deciding that perhaps post would be put to better use by explaining a few things. I haven't seen it, because I stay away from readers conversations about my books because I want them to feel comfortable enough to say whatever they want and have an open conversation without worry. I've seen a few posts from bloggers getting upset that readers are complaining and lashing out against authors because of the long waits between books. For some reason, I didn't think they were talking about me.

Sunday Night

Hope everyone is well :) I've been busty trying to finish The Promise. I'm loving this story and it's quickly getting to the part where I am most likely going to cry, but I will push through! My goal is to still get this out this month, but if I can't make that goal it will be early February. At this point, it looks good :)

General Update

Happy New Year's!

There will be no Chronicle tonight, because I've been focused 100% on finishing The Promise: A Neighbor from Hell novel, which I am aiming for release this month. I'm not sure if I will make it, but I am damn well going to try. There will probably only be a few days notice when it happens, but I will make sure to post it.

A really long freaking day…

So, I've had an interesting, somewhat disturbing day, where I've made several attempts to write the Chronicle this weekend only to get waylaid by completely random and bizarre things getting in the way. Let's see, I've discovered just how incredibly gross kittens can be, which was immediately followed by discovering how much Lysol it took to clean that disturbing discovery, which was followed by the need to clean the entire downstairs. That was followed by finding out that one of the kids dropped a metal measuring cup in the garbage disposal. Somewhere in there I had to deal with a teenager with a newfound texting obsession....

Passing Time: Part I

“I don’t wanna go,” Zoe mumbled into the couch cushion with a forlorn sigh that she felt didn’t convey just how much she didn’t want to go so she followed it up with a louder, longer drawn out sigh.

“What time are you supposed to be there?” Haley asked from the comfortable leather chair where she was devouring another bowl of brownie batter.

“Now,” she said with a pathetic whimper as she laid, trying to find the motivation to go only to decide that nothing was going to get her off that couch.

Absolutely nothing.

Happy Birthday: Part IV

“I don’t know about this,” Mikey said, worrying her bottom lip as she sent another nervous glance towards the bathroom door where Uncle Trevor was finishing up his shower.

“There’s nothing to worry about,” Sebastian promised her, still smiling smugly as he plopped down on the queen bed that he’d shared with his father last night until Uncle Trevor got sick of Sebastian kicking him and hogging the blankets and tossed him onto her bed.

At that point, Mikey had spent a majority of the night trying to get her best friend to stop hogging the blankets and kicking her in his sleep. When it had become obvious that nudging him awake every five minutes wasn’t going to work, she’d resorted to slapping a pillow over his head until he’d woken up sputtering and glaring at her. Once she’d been assured that they had an understanding over the blankets, she’d curled up on her side, closed her eyes, and gone to sleep, ignoring his demands that she at least share the sheet.
