No Chronicle Tonight-Family Emergencies

Sorry, Ladies, but I couldn't manage a Chronicle this week. I had to do two trips to the emergency room with two children this week, the latest one was last night. Nothing serious or life threatening, but enough that taking care of them has become five full time jobs.

The Cafeteria Wars…..Conclusion and Information

“Cole Bradford?”

“Yes?” he said, trying not to fidget in his chair while his cousins sat beside him, looking bored.

“Your parents are here,” Mrs. Benet said, still looking just as furious as she had an hour ago when she’d been forced to call every available teacher to clear the cafeteria while the police stepped in with the EMTs and tried to talk the cafeteria staff into leaving the walk-in freezer where they’d barricaded themselves once things had gone….south.

“Think mom will homeschool us this time or do you think they’ll hire us a tutor?” Sebastian asked, sounding unconcerned as Cole sat there, wondering how things had gone so bad, so fast.

“They might have Aunt Jodi tutor us,” Jonathan said, sounding hopeful, most likely because she loved to cook and it usually didn’t take much prompting or pouting to get her to whip them up something delicious to eat.

“She’s got the twins to take care of,” Sebastian pointed out with a shrug.

“We could help,” Jonathan said, pulling out what Cole already recognized as his grandfather’s iPhone.

“That’s true,” Sebastian agreed with an absent nod as he leaned over to look at whatever it was that his twin was looking at while Cole sat there, staring at his cousins in horror, wondering why they weren’t panicking.

About Double Dare…

Dear Reader,

Double Dare is out and while a lot of you are enjoying the book, a few of you just couldn't quite get the feel of it. What happened was that I tried something completely new. Instead of watching them fall in love, I threw you into a story about two people in love with obstacles and who are already in a relationship of sorts. I gave you no warning. None. For that I apologize, but like I said I was trying something completely new. I don't want to get tied into doing things by the book, sticking to any type of writing formula and I thought that this plot was be the ultimate writing challenge for myself.

Gift Wrapping from Hell and An Announcement

“We are not putting the kids’ presents in trash bags!” Zoe hissed, throwing their bedroom door another nervous glance.

“Why not?” he asked, grabbing a handful of comforter and pulling it up so that he could look underneath the bed. When he didn’t spot any children or listening devices he dropped the comforter and moved on to the rest of their room, looking for recording devices.

“Because I’m not leaving trash bags in front of the tree on Christmas morning for my children!” Zoe hissed as she slowly unlocked their bedroom door, opened it and stuck her head outside. When she didn’t spot any children lingering outside their room, she quietly shut the door and locked it.

“You’re spoiling those kids,” he said, shaking his head in disgust as he moved to check their bathroom.

“Because I want to wrap their presents?”
