Fire & Brimstone

Thanksgiving Negotiations: Part III

Fire & Brimstone

“I…I don’t think I can do this,” Zoe managed to get out as she stood there, wringing her hands together as she shot another nervous glance at the large kitchen door, which was the only thing protecting them from a room full of Bradford men waiting for Thanksgiving dinner.

“They have it coming,” Haley bit out with a firm nod as she reached up and pushed her glasses back up her nose with a look that she probably thought was intimidating, but really, she was just too damn adorable for words to pull off, Rebecca thought as she forced herself to focus on the problem at hand.

The weak link.

Thanksgiving Negotiations

“Did I tell you how much I love you?” Rebecca asked, allowing her bottom lip to tremble ever so slightly, and then, just because she felt that it couldn’t hurt, she placed her hand on the soft swell of her belly.

“You know what I couldn’t help but wonder,” Lucifer murmured conversationally as his gaze dropped to her hand as she watched his expression soften the way that it did whenever he thought about the baby.

“That it would probably be in your best interest to give in to my needs?”

Excerpt from Dark Light, the first Fire & Brimstone Novel

“I’m not going to hurt you,” Ash said softly as he took a step closer to her, refusing to let her go this time.

As Tomi continued to turn her head, searching for something, he ran his eyes over her and couldn’t help but frown. She was thinner than the last time he saw her, too thin, and her clothes were old, torn, and threadbare. She looked nothing like the spoiled girl he knew six years ago.

“What the hell happened to you?” he snapped before he could stop himself.

“You know what happened, Ash,” Tomi said, giving him an unreadable look before she returned her attention to whatever the hell it was that she was looking for.
