Late Night Talk

“They’re evil,” Trevor muttered against her belly, which was immediately followed by pressing a kiss against her belly through the Bradford Construction tee-shirt that she’d helped herself to from his closet before he turned his head and released a heartfelt sigh.

“What did they do now?” Zoe asked, placing her book down next to her on the bed and-

“Exist,” Trevor mumbled, making her lips twitch.

Knowing that he wouldn’t appreciate it if she smile right now, Zoe cleared her throat and wrapped her arms around him and began running her fingers through his hair. “What else did they do?”

Tilting his head back so that he could glare at her, he demanded, “That’s not enough?”

“It usually takes more to piss you off,” Zoe reminded him, watching as his eyes narrowed dangerously on her before he slowly, ever so slowly, went back to using her as a pillow.

“I’m not pissed,” Trevor grumbled, following that up with another kiss.

“Then, what are you?” Zoe asked, staring up at the ceiling as she ran her fingers through his hair, losing herself in the soothing gesture while she went over everything that she had to do in the morning.

“Deeply concerned,” he muttered, making her frown.

The Betrayal

The R.L. Mathewson Chronicles

“Do you still want to pout?” came the softly murmured question that had Cayley releasing a heartfelt sigh, mostly because she felt that it would help make this better.
“I’m sorry it’s taking so long, sweetheart,” Bryce whispered softly in her ear as he pressed his lips against the back of her neck while he continued caressing her large belly.
“I’m so hungie,” Cayley mumbled sadly as she shifted back against her husband as she stared out the window.
“I know you are, sweetheart,” Bryce said as Cayley released another heartfelt sigh as she shifted her attention from the window to the bathroom as she debated her options and-
She’d put this off for long enough.

Thanksgiving Negotiations

“Did I tell you how much I love you?” Rebecca asked, allowing her bottom lip to tremble ever so slightly, and then, just because she felt that it couldn’t hurt, she placed her hand on the soft swell of her belly.

“You know what I couldn’t help but wonder,” Lucifer murmured conversationally as his gaze dropped to her hand as she watched his expression soften the way that it did whenever he thought about the baby.

“That it would probably be in your best interest to give in to my needs?”

The Plan: Part II

“What is wrong with you people?” Trevor heard his wife demand when he reached their closed bedroom door.

“Many things,” Eric said from the other side of the door with a sigh that matched his as Trevor rubbed his hands roughly down his face, not sure that he wanted to know what was going on in there.

Not after the last time.

“No, please, I don’t want to do this!”

“Stop wiggling!”

“I would if you’d stop touching my ass!”

Tournament: January Chronicle

“Please tell me that you’re kidding.”

“I’m really not,” Jason said, folding his arms over his chest as he glared down at the small woman that better not try to leave that bed again.

“But I have to-”

“No.”

“But-”

“No.”

“If you’d just let me explain, I-”

Christmas Shopping

“Get in the truck,” came the demand that would have normally had her running the other way and yelling for her Dad, but since she had a math test waiting for her at school today …

Mikey turned around and climbed into the black pick-up truck, shoving her best friend out of the way in the process and once he accepted the fact that she was sitting next to the door, she shoved her backpack onto his lap, adjusted her baseball cap, put her seatbelt on, grabbed her baseball out of her bag, and sat back with a sigh and another wiggle to ensure that the large boy glaring at her understood that the large comfortable passenger seat was hers. He responded by tossing her bag in the back, unclipping her belt, picking her up and shifting towards the right before promptly depositing her in the middle where she was expected to use a lap belt and accept less than half the foot space while squeezing in between him and his father.

Date Night II

“What the hell is she doing?” Kasey asked Sara as the two of them stood there, shaking their heads in disgust while Zoe did her best to ignore them.

“Trying to piss us off,” Eric mumbled absently around a handful of popcorn as he shifted to get more comfortable on the bed next to her as she lay there trying to figure out why this movie looked so familiar.

“Am I allowed to watch this?” Jonathan asked from her other side.

“Probably not,” Eric said with a shrug while she watched as the creepy looking doll suddenly sat up, grabbed a knife, and-

“No, no you can’t!” she said, slapping a hand over her son’s eyes as she shot the bastard sitting next to her a glare.

“It’s edited for tv,” Eric said as he tossed a handful of popcorn in his mouth only to wince and mutter, “Okay, maybe it’s not.”

Date Night: Part I

“What if she says no?”

“Why would she say no?” Trevor asked his son as he stood in front of the closet door mirror, trying to get his tie right.

“That’s what I was wondering,” his son’s partner-in-crime asked from where she laid on her bed, rolling a baseball between her hands.

“Because she loves me,” he said with a sigh when he was forced to pull his tie free and try again.

“I thought she lost a bet?” Mikey asked, sending Sebastian a questioning look.

Passing Time: Part I

“I don’t wanna go,” Zoe mumbled into the couch cushion with a forlorn sigh that she felt didn’t convey just how much she didn’t want to go so she followed it up with a louder, longer drawn out sigh.

“What time are you supposed to be there?” Haley asked from the comfortable leather chair where she was devouring another bowl of brownie batter.

“Now,” she said with a pathetic whimper as she laid, trying to find the motivation to go only to decide that nothing was going to get her off that couch.

Absolutely nothing.
