Sleepover Part IV

“I’m going to make burgers if you guys are hungry,” Uncle Reese said, sounding bored as he walked past their hiding spot and headed towards the kitchen while Sebastian slowly moved forward until he could place his hand over Mikey’s mouth before she gave them away.

“It’s a trap,” he whispered softly as he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her back towards the back of the large closet and behind a stack of boxes while his gaze shot to Mathew.

The weakest link.

Father’s Day

“What are you doing?” Zoe asked, blinking down at him.

“The better question would be, why aren’t you fluffing my pillows and tucking me in?” he demanded as he crossed his arms over his chest as he switched his glare towards the door. “And where are my children?”

“Having breakfast,” Zoe said, before gesturing towards the bed. “Let’s get back to something for a minute. Why am I supposed to be fluffing your pillows?”

“Because it’s Father’s Day,” he said evenly, gesturing for her to get on with it.

The Sleepover: Part III

“Are the kids still alive?” the incredibly beautiful woman curled up against him mumbled as she pressed a kiss against his neck that had him wrapping his arms around her and pulling her closer.

“For now,” he said, since he decided that it was probably not a good idea to make any promises that he wouldn’t be able to keep.

“Are they asleep?” she whispered as he felt her hand slide teasingly down his chest and over his stomach.

“They’d better be,” he said on a groan as she continued to kiss a path along his neck while her hand slid beneath the waistband of his boxers and-

The Sleepover: Part II

“Your father is going to kill me,” Jonathan announced as Mikey laid there, trying to push the large jerk that had helped himself to her Kindle off her back, but he simply adjusted his legs with a satisfied sigh and pinned her to the couch.

“For what?” she asked, really wishing the men in this family learned to get to the point. It would really save her a lot of wasted time, she thought with a groan as she tried to reach back and shove Sebastian’s legs off only to give up with another groan.

“This and that,” Jonathan said absently as he rubbed the back of his neck while he shot the back door a look that she was becoming very familiar with.

“What did you do?” she demanded with a glare as she reached down and picked her baseball off the floor so that she could roll it between her hands as she waited to find out what her favorite cousin had done now.

The Sleepover

“You’ve had it for an hour!”

“I just got it!”

“No, you didn’t!”

“Yes, I did!”

“He’s had the Nintendo 3DS for an hour! I just got the iPad!” one of the spawn of Satan hissed while Reese laid there, staring at the ceiling, wondering what had possessed his incredibly beautiful wife to agree to this.

He turned to ask her only to find her curled up on her side, sleeping peacefully, and blissfully unaware of the impending massacre going on downstairs in the living room. She was so damn beautiful, he thought as he rolled over onto his side and wrapped his arm around her, careful of the slight swell of her stomach and pulled her closer until he had her in his arms.

“Shouldn’t you be sleeping?” his incredibly beautiful wife asked with a sleepy smile as she moved closer so that she could reach up and cup his jaw.

“Probably,” he said as he leaned into her touch.

From The Promise…and a Giveaway

An Excerpt from The Promise

Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea, she thought as she adjusted the Tupperware bowl in her arms, careful not to drop the new stack of books that she’d helped herself to as she stood there, trying to come up anything to keep her from having to knock on the closed door in front of her. She could sleep in Matt’s room, she thought, worrying her bottom lip as she glanced over her shoulder at the closed bedroom door behind her, trying to tell herself that it would only be for one night, but she knew that she would never be able to do it. Not after everything she’d seen, she thought fighting back a shudder as she turned her attention to the only other option in the house.

Reed’s room.

She could try sleeping on the couch again, and she would happily do that if it weren’t for the fact that the couch was lumpy, small even for her, and after two minutes she’d lost feeling in both her arms. She’d also tried to the floor, sleeping in a chair, the tub, and searched the rest of the rooms, hoping that one of them would turn out to be another guest room, only to come up empty. So, that left asking the man that hated her if she could sleep in his room, which probably wasn’t going to go over well. There was always her grandparents’ old house, but that wasn’t really much of an option at the moment.

Happy Mother’s Day

“But, it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow,” Cole bit out with a glare as Jason shoved his overnight bag in his hands.

“Then you should probably remember to get your grandmother something nice,” Jason said with a wink as he shoved his son inside his parent’s house, noting the other two were already heading towards the kitchen with his mother and shut the door on his son’s glaring face.

Once that was done, Jason glanced down at his watch, realized how late it was and moved his ass. In less than a minute, he was in his car and heading towards Walmart, wondering how he could have fucked this up so badly. He’d marked it on every calendar that he owned and had even set several reminders so that he wouldn’t forget, but somehow he still managed to screw this up.

Next year he was ordering all her gifts ahead of time so that he didn’t fuck this up again, he decided as he pulled into the parking lot and-

“Shit!”

The Nap: Part II

“But-”

“Get in the tub, woman,” Trevor bit out as he angrily threw his shirt on the floor and toed off his boots with a glare that dared her to argue with him.

“But, I just wanted to take a nap by myself,” she said weakly as she worried her bottom lip and gestured towards the bedroom.

“Get. In,” he said evenly as he undid his fly and shoved his pants down, taking his boxers down with them as she stood there, reluctantly nodding.

“Okay,” she said, turning around as she struggled to bite back a smile.

The Nap: Part I

I’ll be there in half hour. I just have to run upstairs to get my wallet.

Trevor quickly sent the text as he got out of his truck and headed for his front door, debating stopping on the way to pick up more beer only to decide that he should also pick up pizza. A quick glance at the time told him that he better move his ass or he was going to end up missing the start of the game.

With that in mind, he went inside and headed upstairs, noting that the house seemed so empty without Zoe and the kids. As he headed upstairs, he considered sending Zoe a text to see how she was doing, but he didn’t want to bother her while she was working. He’d tried to get her to take the night off so that he that they could enjoy their first kid-free night together in months, but she needed to get this done this weekend so he was stuck spending the day with his cousins.

But, that was-

The Phone Call: Part IV

“I’m not ready for kids,” Trevor said on a heavy sigh as he dropped his head in his hands as the sounds of children coughing, drunks vomiting, and the emergency room triage nurse yelling at everyone filled the air while he sat there, seriously wondering where he’d gone wrong.

“You’re really not,” Mikey, his favorite little pain in the ass, said with a solemn nod while the reason that they were here said, “I’ve been thinking the same thing.”

Biting back a groan, he shifted his attention to the stretcher in front of him just as Sebastian nodded absently with a murmured, “I think I’m going to lie down now,” as he hugged his bloody hand against his chest and-

“Umm, you are lying down,” Mikey pointed out as Sebastian closed his eyes and rolled over onto his side with a pained groan.
